Rumor: Angelina Jolie Being Courted For 'Captain Marvel' Or 'Wonder Woman'

UnbrokenWell, that didn’t take long. Just about 48 hours since it was reported that Michelle MacLaren exited "Wonder Woman" over "creative differences," a new name is being tossed into the ring, and it’s pretty high wattage. But before we get too crazy, let’s bear in mind this is a rumor and treat it as such.

Collider reports that Angelina Jolie is "under consideration" for Marvel‘s "Captain Marvel," and that she’s a "possibility" to direct "Wonder Woman" for Warner Bros./DC Comics. Obviously, she can only take one, and it would depend on if she even wants the job anyway. She is currently attached to helm the biopic, "Africa," which is due to lens this summer, but the current status of that gig is unknown.

Would Marvel and Warner Bros. love to have Jolie in their fold? Of course. But whether or not this is just an idea being spitballed among executives or something more concrete remains to be seen. It should be noted neither film has a finished script (the "Captain Marvel" writers just got hired, while "Wonder Woman" has various drafts being developed), and that too could prevent a helmer of Jolie’s caliber from committing this early (unless she gets to take a hands-on role in those screenplays).

So, lots of conjecture here, not much fact, but let us know if you think Jolie is a good fit for the comic book world.
