'Russian Doll' Trailer: Natasha Lyonne Is Stuck In An Endless Loop Of Death In New Netflix Comedy Series

Groundhog Day” did it with comedy. “Happy Death Day” did it with horror. Now, seemingly both are combined in the new comedy series “Russian Doll,” starring Natasha Lyonne as Nadia, a New York City woman that just can’t seem to escape the endless loop of leaving a party, getting killed, and coming back to experience it all over.

The first trailer for the new comedy series puts a fun spin on a typical trailer, with the footage replaying itself every single time Nadia gets killed. Unlike “Happy Death Day,” there’s no hidden killer on the loose. No, instead Nadia dies by getting hit by a car, falling down some stairs, falling into open holes in the street, and even thanks to a plummeting elevator. It just seems to be really shitty luck that keeps her experiencing the same day over and over again. Or maybe, she’s just crazy?

That’s the question that seems to be at the heart of “Russian Doll.” Is Nadia crazy or is her life on repeat? Her friends and family have a hard time figuring her out, as she appears to be out of her mind. But then there’s that guy on the elevator, that seems to be going through the exact same thing.

“Russian Doll” stars Lyonne, but features a supporting cast including Greta Lee, Yul Vazquez, Tony Award-winner Elizabeth Ashley, and Charlie Barnett. Chloë Sevigny, Dascha Polanco, Brendan Sexton III, Rebecca Henderson, Jeremy Bobb, Ritesh Rajan, and Jocelyn Bioh all guest star.

Netflix will release “Russian Doll” on February 1.

Here’s the synopsis for the new series:

Russian Doll follows a young woman named Nadia (Natasha Lyonne) on her journey as the guest of honor at a seemingly inescapable party one night in New York City.
