Disney+ Day is upon us. Along with the streaming premieres of “Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings” and “Jungle Cruise,” and season two of “The World According To Jeff Goldblum,” the celebration also includes updates on many upcoming Marvel and Star Wars series.
Marvel’s Phase 4 is well underway, with four new shows and three films already released. “Hawkeye” and “Spider-Man: No Way Home” also release before the year is out, but there’s a ton of other shows/films on the way in 2022. Among them is “She-Hulk,” a new series that stars Tatiana Maslany as lawyer Jennifer Waters, a cousin of Bruce Banner, who receives some of Banner’s Hulk powers after a blood transfusion. As Waters learns how to manage her new powers amidst her law career, she’ll face off against Titania, a supervillain who rivals Waters’ new Hulk-like strength.
“She-Hulk” is Maslany’s show, but she has an excellent supporting cast around her. Mark Ruffalo returns to reprise his role as Bruce Banner/Hulk. Also returning is Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/Abomination, fresh off an appearance in “Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings.” The show also stars Ginger Gonzaga, Renée Elise Goldsberry, Anais Almonte, and Josh Segarra. As for Titania? Jameela Jamil plays her.
Jessica Gao, known for her work on “Rick & Morty,” “Robot Chicken, and “Corporate,” is the showrunner for “She-Hulk.” Kat Coiro co-directs with Anu Valia. As for the vibe for the show? Expect something like a courthouse comedy, except with superheroes.
There’s no confirmed release date yet for “She-Hulk,” but expect it to hit Disney+ in mid-2022. Check out the teaser below.
