DC Films fans around the world will be getting the big screen movie about Diana Prince they’ve always wanted with “Wonder Woman,” however, if you’re looking for an origin story that goes all the way back to the comic book’s roots, a new movie with far less CGI is on the way.
“Professor Marston & The Wonder Women” tells the true story of the titular Harvard psychologist who invented the lie detector, engaged in a polyamorous relationship long before anyone knew what that meant, and created the iconic Wonder Woman character — which he based on the relationships with the women in his life. It’s a fascinating story and one that should shed some light on a little known chapter of comic book history.
Written and directed by Angela Robinson (“The L Word,” “True Blood“) and starring Luke Evans, Bella Heathcote, and Rebecca Hall, “Professor Marston & The Wonder Women” likely opens later this year.
