So Sigur Ros' latest album Valtari came out last spring and they've used it as an opportunity to corral a number of artists and directors to helm videos for each song on the album. While none will likely top Shia LaBeouf's wang-bearing work in "Fjogur Piano," the Icelandic post-rock group is still attracting big talent to what they have dubbed their "Mystery Film Experiment."
Music video veteran Floria Sigismondi (Bjork, Marilyn Manson, David Bowie and the film "The Runaways" among many others), who has previously worked with the band on "Vaka (Untitled No. 1)," returns here with "Leaning Towards Solace" soundtracked by the Sigur Ros tunes "Dauðalogn" and "Varúð." John Hawkes and Elle Fanning take roles in the clip with the former as a hard drinking dude who likes to wander on rocks, with the latter as a grimy ballerina. Narration explains everything else you need to know.
It's all very….artistic….so give it a spin below and you can catch Sigur Ros on tour next year. [Tarkowski]
