"When he steps onto the set the world stops….Everything stops. What he’s done is so powerful, so menacing, so palpable, you can feel him. The crew stops working and just watches him. I have to get everybody going again because he’s so fascinating," director David Ayer gushed about Jared Leto‘s performance as The Joker in the upcoming "Suicide Squad" to Total Film (via Vulture). And perhaps after the critical lashing served to "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice," it’s time to give audiences something to get excited about.
Not that there isn’t plenty to be excited about already with Deadshot (Will Smith), Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie), Captain Boomerang (Jai Courtney), Enchantress (Cara Delevingne), Rick Flag (Joel Kinnaman), Katana (Karen Fukuhara), Slipknot (Adam Beach), Killer Croc (Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje), Monster T (Common) and El Diablo (Jay Hernandez) leaping off the page and onto the screen with this tale of rogue anti-heroes banded together for a do-or-die mission boasting a much different vibe than the grim seriousness of Zack Sndyer‘s movie.
"Suicide Squad" opens on August 5th. Check out the new trailer below.
